Duʿāʾ al-Muʿallim

Opening Praise and Gratitude

O Allah, we praise You. We thank You. We thank You for the blessing of Islam. We thank You for the blessing of the Qur’an. We thank You and we praise You for the blessing of our Prophet .

O Allah, we praise You and we thank You for giving us the gift of Ramadan. O Allah, we praise You and we thank You for allowing us to gather in Your homes and to recite the Qur’an. O Allah, we praise You and we thank You for giving us the health to be able to fast, or to be able to understand and recite the Qur’an.

Ya Allah, we praise You and we thank You for allowing us to be from the Muslims. We praise You and we thank You for allowing us to be from the Muslims. O Allah, in a world that is so lost and becoming so dark, we praise You and we thank You for allowing us to be from the Muslims. We praise You and we thank You for the blessing of Islam.

Blessings Upon the Prophet ﷺ

We ask You to send Your peace and blessings upon the one whom You sent as a guide. We ask You to send Your peace and blessings upon him, upon his family and his companions, and those that follow.

Ya Allah, we ask You to gather us with him. Ya Allah, as we were deprived from praying behind him, from being in his company, from being amongst those who got to see his smile in this life, from being amongst those who got to see him when the revelation came upon him, from being amongst those that were comforted by him when we were grieving, Ya Allah, we ask You, as we were deprived of that in this life, to not deprive us of his company and his companionship in the highest level.

Becoming People of the Qur’an

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, we ask You to make us people of the Qur’an. Ya Allah, as You allowed us to recite this Qur’an, Ya Allah, allow us to honor every letter of it. Ya Allah, allow us to be honored by every letter of it. Ya Allah, make us amongst those that abide by its every command. Ya Allah, make us amongst those whose hearts tremble at its recitation. Ya Allah, make us amongst those for whom You facilitate its memorization. Ya Allah, make us amongst those who recite it day and night and who never go far from it. Ya Allah, make us from its consistent companions. Ya Allah, allow it to be our intercessor. Ya Allah, allow it to fill our graves with light. Ya Allah, allow it to intercede for us on the Day of Judgment. Ameen.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, make us amongst those who continue to turn back to it, who continue to seek its reward, who continue to seek healing from it no matter what circumstance they are in. Ya Allah, do not make us amongst those about whom the Prophet ﷺ complains about abandoning the Qur’an. Ya Allah, do not make us amongst those about whom the Prophet ﷺ complains about abandoning the Qur’an.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, we ask You to fill our hearts with it. We ask You to fill our hearts with it, and we ask You to crown us with it on the Day of Judgment. Ya Allah, make it the coolness of our hearts. Ya Allah, make it the reliever of our distress. Ya Allah, make it that which evaporates, extinguishes our anxiety. Ya Allah, make it our reliever and raise our rank by it. Ya Allah, make us from its people.

Seeking Forgiveness at the Close of Ramadan

Ya Allah, we call upon You as this month is coming to a close. Ya Allah, we call upon You for Your mercy. Ya Allah, it was Your Prophet ﷺ who said that whoever fasts this month with faith and with seeking the reward, that they would be forgiven for all of their sins. Ya Allah, we ask You to forgive all of our sins.

Ya Allah, it was Your Prophet ﷺ who said that whoever stands its nights with faith and seeking its reward, that they will be forgiven for all of their sins. Ya Allah, we ask You to forgive all of our sins.

Ya Allah, it was Your Prophet ﷺ who said that whoever observes with faith and with seeking the reward, that they’ll be forgiven for all of their sins. Ya Allah, we ask You to forgive us for all of our sins.

Asking for Allah’s Love and Mercy

Ya Allah, we call upon You. Ya Allah, we call upon You knowing that You love to forgive. Ya Allah, You love to forgive. Ya Allah, You love to show mercy despite what You know of us. Ya Allah, You love to forgive us despite what You know of our sins. Ya Allah, You love to turn towards us despite our shortcomings. Ya Allah, You love to love those that seek Your love even though they do things that are unbefitting of it.

Ya Allah, Ya Wadud, we ask You to make us amongst those that You love. Ya Allah, we ask You for Your love. Ya Allah, we ask You to love each and every single one of us by name. Ya Allah, we ask You to announce to Your angels Your love for us. Ya Allah, do not let us be announced amongst the deprived or the despised. Ya Wadud, we ask You to announce our names with love. Ya Allah, let us be in that conversation between You and them, that we are amongst those that You love.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, we ask You to make us amongst those whose praise of You fills the heavens and the earth. Ya Allah, we ask You to make us amongst those whose praise of You is recorded in the heavens and the earth. Ya Allah, we ask You to guide us and inspire us towards the deeds that are beloved to You. We ask You, Ya Allah, to make us amongst those who do the deeds that earn Your love. And we ask You, O Allah, to make us amongst those that are loved by those that You love, and we ask You to make us amongst those that love those whom You love.

Asking for Jannah and Protection from the Fire

Ya Allah, we call upon You despite what we know of ourselves, but because of what we know of You. Ya Allah, we ask You for Jannah. O Allah, we ask You for Jannah. O Allah, we ask You for Jannah. O Allah, we ask You for Jannah. And despite what we know of ourselves, because of what we know of You, we don’t just ask You for Jannah, we ask You for Firdaus. Ya Allah, we ask You for the highest reward of Jannah. Ya Allah, we ask You for the highest rank of Jannah. Ya Allah, we ask You to elevate us not because of our deeds but because of Your mercy. Ya Allah, because of Your mercy. Ya Allah, You are the One who sent the Qur’an, You are the One who sent Ramadan, You are the One who sent us our Prophet ﷺ.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, because of Your mercy, we ask You to make us amongst those who avail ourselves of those gifts. We ask You to guide us to Jannah, and we ask You to guide us to the methods that help us to attain al-Jannah, and we ask You to guide us to the rewards of Jannah, and we ask You to guide us to be amongst the highest ranks of Jannah.

And Ya Allah, we ask You to protect us from the Fire. Ya Allah, we ask You to protect us from the Fire. Ya Allah, we ask You to protect us from the Fire. Ya Allah, make us amongst those who enter into Jannah without even touching the Fire. Ya Allah, make us amongst those who enter into it without even touching the Fire. Ya Allah, make us amongst those who enter into it without being asked, without being questioned, without being held accountable.

Ya Allah, we ask You, without being held accountable and without being asked. Ya Allah, spare us of the humiliation of that Day. Spare us of the horror of that Day. Ya Allah, spare us of the humiliation of having to read our sins. Ya Allah, spare us of the horror of having to be in Hellfire even for a minute. Ya Allah, spare us of the horror of having to walk over and having to worry about falling into the Fire. Ya Allah, allow the Day of Judgment to pass for us quickly. Allow it to be made easy for us. Ya Allah, cool us with the shade of Your Throne. Ya Allah, please us with the entrance into Your Jannah through its first rows.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, comfort us when the Hellfire is brought. Ya Allah, comfort us and assure us that we will not be from its people. Ya Allah, protect us from being from the people of Hellfire. Ya Allah, free our necks from the Fire. Ya Allah, free our necks from the Fire. Ya Allah, free our necks from the Fire. Ya Allah, free us from the sins that cause us to be more worthy of the Fire. Ya Allah, free us from the ways that take us to Jahannam.

Ya Allah, as You flung the gates of Jannah open in this month and You shut the doors of the Fire, Ya Allah, call us through the gates of Jannah and shut for us the gates of Hellfire.

Death, the Grave, and the Questions of the Angels

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, from the moment that our souls leave our bodies, Ya Allah, assure us that we are amongst those that are pleasing to You. Ya Allah, let us be called to You as souls that are at peace, that are pleasing and pleased. Ya Allah, from the very moment that our souls leave our bodies, write us amongst them.

And Ya Allah, from the very moment that we enter into our graves, let us find our graves to be gardens of Jannah and not chambers of the Fire. Ya Allah, let us find our graves to be gardens of Jannah and not chambers of Fire. Ya Allah, when we’re buried into the ground and they put the dirt on us, Ya Allah, expand our graves. Ya Allah, when it gets dark, fill it with Your light. Ya Allah, protect us from its squeeze, protect us from its terror. Ya Allah, grant us firmness, grant us expanse, grant us light, grant us the cloth of al-Jannah, grant us the scent of Jannah. Let us be welcomed by the people of Jannah.

And Ya Allah, when the angels come to ask us, Ya Allah, inspire us with the answers. Ya Allah, we ask You for firmness when we are asked. We ask You for firmness when we are asked. We ask You for firmness when we are asked. Ya Allah, allow us to live and die by this. Ya Allah, let it be the last words that leave our mouths. Ya Allah, let our last words be la ilaha illa Allah. Ya Allah, let our last words be la ilaha illa Allah. Ya Allah, let our last words be la ilaha illa Allah.

And Ya Allah, allow us to answer the angels when they ask who our Lord is: Allah. And when they ask who our Prophet is: Muhammad ﷺ. And when they ask us our religion, allow us to say: al-Islam.

And Ya Allah, when the righteous souls gather and greet, Ya Allah, allow us to be welcomed by none other than the soul of the Prophet ﷺ. Ya Allah, write him amongst those that welcome us.

Guidance, Faith, and Protection from Misguidance

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, facilitate our entire existence with Your pleasure. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, guide us to the ways that are pleasing to You. Ya Allah, make guidance beloved to us. Ya Allah, make guidance beloved to us. Make faith beloved to our hearts. Ya Allah, protect us from misguidance. Ya Allah, protect us from confusion. Ya Allah, protect us from arrogance. Ya Allah, protect us from being controlled by our desires. Ya Allah, protect us from our egos. Ya Allah, protect us from our rage and our anger. Ya Allah, protect us from our despair and our hopelessness. Ya Allah, protect us from all of those things that distance us from You.

Ya Allah, remove from us the shackles of the shaitan. Ya Allah, remove from us the shackles of the shaitan. Ya Allah, repel his whispers. Ya Allah, do not let shaitan have victory over us. Ya Allah, do not let him conquer us. Ya Allah, do not let him instill in us the despair that led him to be outcast. Ya Allah, do not let us be amongst those who despair of Your mercy. Ya Allah, do not let us be amongst those who despair of Your mercy.

Ya Allah, when we think of our sins, Ya Allah, do not let us despair. Let us remember always that Your mercy is greater than our sins. And Ya Allah, when we feel lost and hopeless and like our sins have doomed us, Ya Allah, let us remember that You forgive all sins. Inspire in us the ability to repent to You. And Ya Allah, accept our repentance. Ya Allah, accept our repentance. Ya Allah, accept our repentance. Do not make us amongst those that despair.

Ya Allah, expel from us every quality that isn’t beloved to You. Ya Allah, expel from us every quality that isn’t beloved to You. Ya Allah, expel from us every quality that isn’t beloved to You. Ya Allah, dress us and inspire in us the qualities that make us beloved to You, Allah. O Allah, until You’re pleased with us. O Allah, until You are pleased with us. O Allah, shape us and allow us to strive until You are pleased with us.

Ya Allah, protect us, protect us from the evil of the shaitan, protect us from the evil of our lowly selves, protect us from the evil of those that plot against us. Ya Allah, protect our communities. Ya Allah, protect our families. Ya Allah, protect our ummah. Ya Allah, do not give our enemies a hand over us. Ya Allah, do not give our enemies a hand over us. Ya Allah, let shaitan despair of us. Ya Allah, let shaitan despair of us. Ya Allah, let the shaitan despair of us. Ya Allah, make us amongst those who are so absorbed by Your remembrance, by Your love, that the shaitan no longer finds a path within us.

Ya Allah, protect us from being led astray. Ya Allah, when it’s confusion, grant us clarity. Ya Allah, when others show cowardice, grant us courage. Ya Allah, when others leave their core, anchor us in Your revelation. Ya Allah, when others despair of You, make us amongst those that have hope in You. And Ya Allah, do not let our hope in You be delusion. Do not let us insist upon Your disobedience but then insist upon Your mercy at the same time. Ya Allah, inspire us towards Your obedience and let us part from our disobedience of You. Ya Allah, grant us our righteousness and protect us from our own wickedness.

Duʿāʾ for the Ummah

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, and we call upon You with our ummah. Ya Allah, our ummah is being hurt in so many different ways. We look towards the state of our ummah and we feel shame. Inspire in us the strength to do what is right. Ya Allah, we look to our ummah and we see it in fear. Ya Allah, the ummah of Your Prophet ﷺ. Ya Allah, the ummah is in pain. Ya Allah, we look towards it and we feel shame. Ya Allah, forgive us for our shortcomings in regards to our ummah. Ya Allah, forgive us for our shortcomings in regards to our ummah. Ya Allah, forgive us for our shortcomings in regards to our ummah.

Duʿāʾ for Al-Aqsa and Liberation

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, the place where You gathered Your prophets, Ya Allah, where the first of the prophets and the last of them prayed together, Ya Allah, there is not a believer that’s being allowed to call upon You in these nights. Ya Allah, our first is shut. Ya Allah, our first is shut. Ya Allah, forgive us. Ya Allah, fill it once again. Ya Fattah, open its gates. Ya Fattah, open its gates. Protect it from the plots against it. Protect it from the plots against it.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, protect it. Ya Allah, protect it from those who plot against it, and protect us from having hard hearts towards it. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, remove the occupiers from it once and for all. Ya Allah, remove them from it, remove them from around it, remove them from under it. Ya Allah, expel them once and for all. Ya Allah, allow us to see their plans backfire on them. Ya Allah, as they plan against it and they plan against this ummah, Ya Allah, let their plans backfire. Ya Allah, as we see them boasting, Ya Allah, turn their boasting into brokenness. Ya Allah, as we see them happy, Ya Allah, turn that happiness into humiliation. Ya Allah, as we see them in pride, turn their pride into poverty.

Ya Allah, as our enemies boast about what they do to our ummah, Ya Allah, allow us to see all of that pride, all of their boasting, all of their excitement over their evil, Ya Allah, turn it into anguish. Ya Allah, turn it into anguish for them.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, their darkness has come forth. Ya Allah, their evil has been exposed for the whole world to see. Ya Allah, inspire us to confront it. Ya Allah, place us on the best track to confront it. Ya Allah, fill Al-Aqsa with the worshippers once again. Ya Allah, fill Al-Aqsa with the worshippers again. Ya Allah, free it from the occupation once and for all.

We call upon You, Ya Allah, because we know that there is no power and no might except for Yours, and there is no power or might to be found in us except through You. Ya Allah, guide us to do what’s right by it. Ya Allah, do not make us amongst the cowards or the hard-hearted that sit by and that watch it taken away from us and don’t do anything. Guide us to the right ways. Ya Allah, guide us to the right ways.

Duʿāʾ for Oppressed Muslims Around the World

Ya Allah, we watched our ummah bombed and brutalized so many times. Do not let our hearts become hard in regards to it. Ya Allah, protect our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Ya Allah, protect them. Ya Allah, protect them where they’re bombed and brutalized. Ya Allah, protect them in Lubnan. Ya Allah, protect them in Yemen, protect them in Iran, protect them in Iraq, protect them in Surya, protect them in Sudan. Ya Allah, protect them in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ya Allah, remove the plots of the enemies against us. Ameen.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, those who sow division and discord amongst us, Ya Allah, sow division and discord amongst them. Ya Allah, those who seek to render this ummah futile and worthless, Ya Allah, make them worthless. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, let their plans backfire. Ya Allah, busy them with themselves. Ya Allah, render all of their efforts worthless. Ya Allah, as You promised us that the tyrants would be ants on the Day of Judgment that the people step on, Ya Allah, allow us to see their humiliation in this life before the next.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, grant our ummah steadfastness. Ya Allah, grant our ummah steadfastness. Ya Allah, grant our ummah steadfastness. Ya Allah, allow it to rise up once again. Ya Allah, allow it to rise up once again. Ya Allah, protect all of the innocent wherever they are. Ya Allah, protect them from the works of evil, protect them from those who wish evil upon them. Ya Allah, protect the Muslims, protect the innocent all over.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, allow us to be part of the liberation of Palestine. Ya Allah, allow us to see the wonders of Your decree in this year. Ya Allah, do not let us see another Ramadan where Palestine is continuously aggravated upon, where the aggressions continue against our ummah. Ya Allah, allow us to see over this year our ummah start to rise once again. Ya Allah, unite our hearts. Ya Allah, unite our ranks. Ya Allah, unite our efforts. Ya Allah, inspire us towards all good. Ya Allah, inspire us towards all good and protect us from all evil.

Duʿāʾ for Prisoners

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, and for our brothers and sisters that are in the prison cells, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, while we gather in these masjid, Ya Allah, they are alone, they are alone. Ya Allah, only You are with them. Ya Allah, You see them when we can’t see them anymore. Ya Allah, You hear them when we can’t hear them anymore. Ya Allah, You provide for them when we can’t provide for them, and all provision is through You. We ask You to free our prisoners. Ya Allah, we ask You to free our prisoners. Ya Allah, we ask You to free all of them.

Ya Allah, we ask You to fill their cells with light. We ask You to give them what we wish we could give them but we’re incapable. Ya Allah, You know our hearts in regards to them. You know how we wish we could do more for them. Ya Allah, You free them. You bring them out. Ya Allah, You allow us to celebrate their freedom. And for those who die in those prisons, Ya Allah, grant them the expansiveness of mercy. Ya Allah, for those who die in those prisons, grant them the expansiveness of mercy.

Ya Allah, we ask You to have mercy on them. Ya Allah, we ask You to free our sister Afia. Ya Allah, we ask You to free our sister Afia. Ya Allah, grant ease to our sister Afia. Ya Allah, we ask You to free all of our prisoners, the names that we know and the names that we don’t know. Ya Allah, provide for them and unite them with their families, the ones in this country and the ones around the world.

Duʿāʾ for Families, Spouses, Children, and Parents

Ya Allah, we ask You, Ya Allah, we ask You to liberate our hearts, to liberate our hearts from fear, to liberate our hearts from cowardice, to liberate our hearts from stubbornness. Ya Allah, we ask You to put in our families that which is blessed. Ya Allah, we ask You to make us amongst those that are pleasing to You. Ya Allah, we ask You to grant us spouses and children that are the coolness of our eyes and to make us leaders of the pious. Ya Allah, we ask You to grant us spouses and children that are the coolness of our eyes and to make us leaders of the pious.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, we ask You to have mercy on those that came before us. Ya Allah, have mercy on the believers that preceded us. Ya Allah, we ask You to forgive and have mercy on our parents. Ya Allah, for those that have lost their parents, for our deceased parents, Ya Allah, let every word, let every good that we do be credit to them. Ya Allah, fill their graves with light. Ya Allah, fill their scales with good. Ya Allah, do not let us recite a single letter of the Qur’an or a single prayer except that You credit it to them. Ya Allah, forgive and have mercy upon our deceased parents.

And Ya Allah, preserve our living parents and let them be pleased and let them be pleasing, and grant them, Ya Allah, grant them health and grant them happiness and grant them prosperity and let them have a good ending. Allah, O Allah, forgive our parents and have mercy upon them as they raised us when we were young.

Ya Allah, for everyone that is looking to get married, Ya Allah, we ask You to provide them a righteous spouse. Ya Allah, facilitate righteous spouses for those that are seeking. Ya Allah, facilitate for them righteous spouses.

And Ya Allah, for those that are seeking to have children, Ya Allah, that have been trying to have children, Ya Allah, make it easy for them to have children. Ya Allah, facilitate for them children. O You who gave a child in old age, Ya Allah, give them children.

And Ya Allah, for those that You have decreed in Your wisdom that they not be married or that they not have children or that they don’t have these things, guide them to joy and happiness and fulfillment in this life and the next.

Protection of the Community and Daʿwah

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, You know what is in the hearts of those who wish evil towards us and You know what is in the plans of those who wish evil towards our community. Ya Allah, protect us from them. Ya Allah, protect our masjid. Ya Allah, protect our institutions. Ya Allah, protect our communities.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, guide us so that we can be a people of daʿwah. Ya Allah, allow us to call people to Your religion in ways that are pleasing to You, in Your subtle ways. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, make it easy for our brothers and sisters that are struggling and suffering. Ya Allah, inspire them towards the ways that are pleasing to You and towards the ways that their ranks would be raised.

Sincerity, Acceptance, and Refuge from Hardness

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, we call upon You in this Ramadan. Ya Allah, these duʿas are expressions. Ya Allah, let them be sincere. Ya Allah, let them be accepted. Ya Allah, we seek refuge in You from hard hearts. Ya Allah, we seek refuge in You from distracted minds. Ya Allah, we seek refuge in You from tongues that are busy with other than You. Ya Allah, we seek refuge in You from being amongst those that despair in You.

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, guide us back to You in the most beautiful of ways. Ya Allah, make us amongst the sincere. Ya Allah, make us amongst the accepted. Ya Allah, protect us from the evil of ourselves. Whatever duʿas that we make and those that we forget to make, Ya Allah, You know what is best for us. Ya Allah, grant us the best of this life and the next and protect us from the Fire.

Allah Is Enough for Us

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, when we feel hopeless, You are enough for us. Ya Allah, You are enough for us. Ya Allah, You are enough for us. Ya Allah, You are enough for us. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, do not make us amongst those that seek other than You. Ya Allah, do not make us amongst those that seek other than You.

A Good Ending in Ramadan and in Life

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, grant us, Ya Allah, just as we seek a good ending to this month, we seek a good ending to our lives. Ya Allah, if this is the last Ramadan that You wrote for us, Ya Allah, accept it from us. Ya Allah, if this is the last Ramadan that You wrote for us, Ya Allah, accept it from us. Ya Allah, if this is the last Ramadan You wrote for us, then accept it from us and accept all of our previous Ramadans and all of our previous deeds. Ya Allah, overlook all of our shortcomings.

Protection from Fitnah, Hypocrisy, and Oppression

And Ya Allah, if You’ve decreed for us life, Ya Allah, we ask You to grant us firmness in the face of fitnah. Ya Allah, just as we seek Your protection from being oppressed, Ya Allah, we seek Your protection from being amongst the oppressors. Ya Allah, just as we seek that You purge the hypocrites from our ummah that hurt us and that plot against us, Ya Allah, we seek refuge in You from hypocrisy. Ya Allah, protect us from harming others. Ya Allah, protect us from being oppressors ourselves. Ya Allah, protect us from being hypocrites ourselves. Ya Allah, protect us from becoming that which we claim to hate. Ya Allah, protect us from self-righteousness and pride that doesn’t allow us to see our shortcomings, or from self-righteousness and pride that allows us to insist on our shortcomings. Ya Allah, remove it from us altogether.

Brokenness, Need, and Seeking Complete Forgiveness

Ya Allah, we turn to You broken. Ya Allah, we turn to You broken. Ya Allah, we need You and You do not need us. Ya Allah, we need You, You do not need us. Ya Allah, we know that we need You and You do not need us. Ya Allah, we ask You for Your forgiveness and Your mercy. Ya Allah, we ask You for Your forgiveness and mercy.

Ya Allah, every time our tongue slipped, Ya Allah, every time our eyes slipped, Ya Allah, for every shortcoming, every fault that we committed in Ramadan and before Ramadan and that we’ll continue to commit, Ya Allah, we ask You to overlook it with Your mercy. Ya Allah, with a little bit of Your mercy, forgive all of our sins, the public ones and the private ones, the ones we have done and the ones we have yet to do, the ones that we know of and the ones that even we do not know of. Forgive it all. Wipe our records clean. Ya Allah, let us leave this gathering, let us leave this month completely forgiven for every single sin that we committed. Ya Allah, do not let even a blot of it remain on our record. Ya Allah, do not let a blot of it remain on our record. Ya Allah, do not let a blot of it remain on our record.

And Ya Allah, do not let the effect of them remain in our hearts in any way. Ya Allah, restore us as individuals. Ya Allah, restore us as families. Ya Allah, restore us as communities. Ya Allah, restore us as an ummah.

Witnesses for Us on the Day of Judgment

Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, allow us to be shown this Ramadan on the Day of Judgment testifying on our behalf and not against us. Ya Allah, allow us to see our Qur’an on the Day of Judgment testifying for us and not against us. Ya Allah, let the people in our lives testify for us and not against us. Ya Allah, let these masjid testify for us and not against us. Ya Allah, let our ummah testify for us and not against us. Ya Allah, do not let our ummah be opponents of us on the Day of Judgment. Ya Allah, do not make us amongst those who the people of Gaza complained about.

Complaint to Allah and Asking for Light

Allah, we complain to You about our oppressors and we complain to You about our own incapacity. Ya Allah, as You saved Yunus in his darkest moment, Ya Allah, we ask You to save us in our darkest moments. Ya Allah, we ask You to fill our hearts with light and our tongues with light and our eyes with light. Ya Allah, we ask You to make us light. Ya Allah, make us light. Ya Allah, let our hands receive books in the right hand and be full of light on the Day of Judgment. Put light inside of us and light around us and light in front of us. Ya Allah, as the world gets darker, Ya Allah, make us lights, lights that extend the light of Your Prophet ﷺ. Ya Allah, do not let us be part of the darkness. Let us be part of the light.

Final Plea for Acceptance and Steadfast Hearts

Ya Allah, we ask for Your forgiveness. Ya Allah, we ask for Your acceptance. Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, You commanded us to call upon You. You said that You’re too shy to turn away the hands of Your servant. Ya Allah, do not let our hands be turned away. Ya Allah, do not let our hands be turned away.

And Ya Allah, with the most frequent duʿa of our Prophet ﷺ, O Turner of hearts, turn our hearts towards You. Ya Allah, let our hearts be turned towards You, not just in Ramadan but after Ramadan. Ya Allah, let our hearts constantly be turned towards You. Ya Allah, turn our hearts towards You. Ya Allah, turn our hands towards You. Ya Allah, turn our eyes towards Your Qur’an. Ya Allah, allow us to be amongst those who are elevated to the highest of ranks.

Closing Duʿāʾ

O Allah, this is our duʿa. O Allah, this is our duʿa, and upon You is acceptance.
Ya Allah, accept it on our behalf and on behalf of all of those who couldn’t be with us.
Ya Allah, the deceased and the imprisoned, Ya Allah, accept it on their behalf as well.
Ya Allah, may this duá be a blessing for all of those who read it and recite it, and with You is acceptance.

Ya Allah, send Your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, upon his family, and upon his companions, and all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
