🧠When Your Thoughts Are No Longer Yours:
🧕What Every Muslim Should Know

What once seemed like a plot from a dystopian thriller is now knocking at the door of our everyday lives.
Meta, one of the largest tech companies in the world, has developed an AI-powered system that can decode brainwaves and reconstruct what you see—and even what you silently think. Using sensors and machine learning models, this technology can recreate images from your mind and convert unspoken thoughts into text.
Yes, this is real. And yes, it’s terrifying.
❝ But I didn’t do anything… ❞
We’ve all had thoughts we’d never speak aloud:
- A dark image flashing in our mind after someone hurts us.
- A wishful fantasy about something unrealistic.
- An angry sentence we rehearse—but never say.
These thoughts are fleeting. Often irrational. Sometimes even disturbing.
But they are just thoughts. Not actions. They are not sins. Nor or they crimes.
Yet now we’re entering a world where these unspoken whispers could be:
- Decoded,
- Stored,
- Interpreted,
- Flagged,
- Used against us.
🎯 Thoughtcrime: No Longer Fiction
In George Orwell’s 1984, citizens face punishment for “thoughtcrimes”—internal dissent against the regime.
Sound extreme?
It shouldn’t. Because with AI-driven brain decoding:
- Your silence doesn’t protect you.
- Your imagination may be misread as intent.
- Your neural patterns may become “evidence.”
And just like that, we cross into a world where your own mind can be used against you.
🧕 As a Muslimah, This Cuts Deep
In Islam, thoughts are not judged—actions are. Even the Prophet ﷺ taught:
“Indeed, Allah has pardoned my Ummah for what crosses their minds, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim)
There is mercy in that. Mercy that recognizes the human experience. The internal jihad of the soul.
But this technology removes that mercy and replaces it with cold, unrelenting judgment—from corporations and governments that don’t believe in your dignity, your soul, or your right to repentance.
🛡️ What We’re Really Losing: Cognitive Liberty
Cognitive liberty is your God-given right to think, reflect, repent, imagine, doubt, or believe—without being monitored.
If we don’t protect this now, future generations may grow up in a world where:
- Every mental slip is punished.
- Every spiritual question is flagged.
- Every unspoken emotion is manipulated.
📢 What Can We Do?
- Speak up before it’s too late. Don’t let the normalization of “mind decoding” go unchecked.
- Support legal protections for cognitive liberty, mental privacy, and ethical AI.
- Educate others: Share this message. Write about it. Make it real for people.
- Stay grounded in faith: Remember, only Allah knows what is truly in your heart. AI cannot replace divine justice.
🟣 This is not paranoia. It is foresight.
🟣 This is not conspiracy. This is caution.
🟣 This is not science fiction. This is now.
If you value your right to think freely, feel freely, and repent quietly…
then this is a battle you need to join.
